The Centre for Defending the Freedom of Journalists (CDFJ) denounced the armed attacked on the Paris offices of the weekly satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which resulted in the death of 12 journalists and police officers.
In a statement released on Thursday, January 8, the centre described the crime as a “heinous” and “terrorist” attack.
CDFJ President Nidal Mansour said targeting media outlets and journalists is a crime that cannot be tolerated or justified under any pretexts, stressing that terrorism, regardless of its source, cannot prevent journalists from practicing their “sacred” career.
